Another Art Addition!

I'm sorry for keeping you waiting on our Bedroom before and after, we can't decide which pictures to hang and so we haven't got any further with it. We have been pretty busy with top secret wedding stuff so I don't have much to share with you. until I realized I haven't shown you the awesome new addition to our livingroom that we bought on our latest trip to Ghana, which fills the empty gap that used to be above our sideboard.

We picked it up from the Arts Centre when we were looking for fabric for our bridesmaid's dresses and table runners. The arts centre is a massive market full of art, jewelry, fabric and wooden giraffes. Some of it is really authentic and some of it is a pile of tat, nonetheless it is a fun place to spend a few hours and we always come away with more than we planned. While looking for material at one stall Rodney spotted this picture at the next stall.

He called me over and I also fell in love, it is similar to our other piece of art in the livingroom also from the arts centre in Accra, but that bit more colourful.

We finally got the picture framed over Christmas and put it up not long after the New Year. It definitely makes the space above the sideboard look a lot less sparse.

We are now really running out of space for new pictures, but it seems to be what I love to bring back from holidays, I guess we will have to find a bigger house!!

What do you guys love to bring home from your holidays?

  1. Hmmm, well I came back from London with lots of random stuff: a pile of books, since there was a bookshop with classics for 1.5 GBP, and I got another 2GBP book that I had been wanting to read for a long time from the British Red Cross.
Then Waterstones had this buy 1, get the 2nd half-price promotion and I had to get another 2.
I also got panda bear barrettes, colorful stickers for my keyboard, lots of herbal Twinings tea (it is so expensive here, and the Tesco had some on sale)...
I was tempted to get prints for our walls but we didn't.
I love both of your paintings from Accra, and they do really go together.
